This page details all of our types of shutters, the materials, styles, frames, colours and so much more.
First, let's start with materials.
If it's wood you're looking for, you've got two options, Paulownia and Basswood.
Paulownia
Paulownia is a lightweight, strong hardwood. It offers excellent dimensional stability due to its engineered core which greatly reduced the possibility of warping. Its fine grain texture, knot-free appearance and low oil content make it the perfect timber for staining and painting.
Our paulownia is used for all parts of the shutter including the frame, stile, top and bottom rails, louvres and mid rails. Paulownia is fully FSC certified meaning it comes from a certified, sustainable source.
Our paulownia comes with a different style clear view rod, this allows for more movement when the louvres open and close, designed to not place strain on the wood.
Paulownia shutters can be painted in any colour and any stain, in person samples are brought when we come out to do a check measure.

Basswood
Basswood offers exceptional stability and tightly spaced growth rings. It is a high density hardwood, offering additional strength over paulownia making it perfect for high access areas or large installations.
Very similar to paulownia, Basswood offers exceptional dimensional stability due to its strong engineered core which greatly reduces the possibility of warping.
Our basswood shutters can be painted in any colour and any stain, in person samples are brought when we come out to do a check measure.
If wood isn't what you're looking for and you fancy something more versatile, how about UPVC shutters.

UPVC
Our UPVC shutters are more suited for wet rooms or areas of moisture, our UPVC core composite shutter offers a smoother finish (being man made) and will outlast any wood shutter.
Unlike timber, UPVC shutters are resistant to moisture and can be installed in any room.
They have an excellent temperature operating range, will never warp, peel or flake.
Our UPVC shutters are finished in the same high grade paint finish across the board, meaning if you choose solid wood or a waterproof shutter, to the naked eye the finish will be consistent.
Our UPVC shutters can be painted in any colour and any stain, in person samples are brought when we come out to do a check measure. These shutters also include stainless steel hinges as standard to prevent rusting.
These shutters can be fully recycled once no longer needed.
